Help! Need to rent a flat in London- where to look?

Need a flat in London North/North East (zone 3-5 i.e into Liverpool Street) pretty sharpish. One or two bedrooms with street parking for 2 cars.

Ideally private as Agent 'fees' would rather be avoided so trying Gumtree but is there any other sites/newspapers to look at?

I've been in my flat for something like 6 years and usually had to find new flatmates every 2 years or so. Every time www.spareroom.co.uk has provided the most contacts.
