Righto chaps,

I've spent the last hour or so getting quite confused, frustrated and angry.

In short: I need some help and advice in getting to london.

In Length: I'm doing my christmas shopping tomorrow on oxford street.
I'm coming down the M1, from sheffield and am wanting to use a Park & Ride.

The idea being: Drive down the M1 and park on the outskirts of london, using the tube to get to oxford circus.
However, I can not find a car park, near an underground station, that will get me directly to oxford street. All the ones I've found, such as: Edgware Underground and Stanmore Underground, require cross-overs onto a different line.

If possible, I would like a direct line from any Park & Ride near the M1, to oxford circus.

Multiple sites such as tripadvisor, yahoo q&a and this one: http://www.uklovesyou.info/the-best-london-tube-st... all say I need to use the Jubilee Line (I know absolutely nothing about your underground lines, zones etc.)

Please Help! :-)

Why not just jump on a 'british rail' train a bit further up north and save yourself the hassle of the tube, and the M1?

But, you would probably still need to change trains, thinking about it..

Either do what he said ^ or drive to Stanmore and get the Jubilee line to Bond Street which is in a few mins walk of Oxford Street.

Stanmore is £1 max on a Sunday and has 450 spaces.

edit - M1 junction 4

Thank you!! :0)

google maps says bond street is a 5-min walk oxford street, which is perfect. So I'll use the stanmore p&r. Ta Muchly.

However.... ould that be Bond Street, Bond Street Station, or Bond Street Underground?

I'm assuming underground - but, we all know what assumption is...

Bond St tube station has an exit onto Oxford St, midway between Marble Arch & Oxford Circus.

Underground! You can, even in London, assume some things and despite the deviousness of suvverners, the underground trains do go to underground stations! The clue's in the title smile

Looks to me on googlemaps like 5 minute walk.

haha, I know I know - I just don't want to assume the obvious only to be slapping my head in despair.

All sorted now thank you!
Sheffield to Stanmore, £1 parking (why so cheap!?) Then tube it to bond street underground.

Thanks John, you've just made it onto my chrimbo card list.

Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Circus, Bond Street tubes are all on Oxford Street. Surrounding stations on other lines like Covent Garden, Leicester Square or Piccadilly Circus are only a few minute walk away if they make an easier journey without changing tube lines.
It might be worth while driving all the way in and parking just north of Oxford Street. You'll save the cost of two tube tickets. Single yellow lines are free on Sundays as are pay and display bays (check signs carefully, keep off resident, diplomat bays, dropped kerbs and being parked right on the corner of a junction!)
I don't believe organised park and ride has reached london yet
