Hi everyone,
Just wondering where do you wash your cars in london? Mine (z4 coupe) needs washing, after 2 months of ownership, its a bit dirty . The paint is in quite in good shape (almost no swirls, car was valeted on purchase), so would not want to ruin it in one of those automatic car washes! I am based in SW london (tooting), but happy to drive a bit, if its a decent one!

I find washing the car relaxing too and am never satisfied with someone else washing it, I like to get into the wheel arches, clean the exhaust pipes, do inside the doors, sometimes polish a few bits. We have a car park so wash the car at home, but as the weather gets cooler I find it easier to go to my local Shell and just use the Jetwash there, if car is not too dirty I can get it done with the economy wash, then I chamois it dry.

i'm too much of a loser to use the jetwash, I have buckets, lots of lotions and potions, then dry, then polish and wax. im not obsessive, i just like to take ages over it because i have fk all else to do. Washing the car outside my flat is not an option, hence why I was looking for any car wash that I could trust. I cannot believe that all car washes in london don't do it properly? There must be a few that was a car the right way, and if they are more expensive, so be it. I am just asking here as googling gives me no idea on whether a car was is good or bad.
you're never going to get 2 months worth of crap off your car at a £5 eastern european operation. however, it's all about management of expectation. i take my tvr to one in south east london and if it's really dirty, the first wash will get 95% of the crud off and unless you go off-roading the week after, take it again the following weekend and it'll look great.
There is one fairly good hand car wash i have found amoung the grit polishers. Homebase car park on york road in battersea - next door to the candle factory. No swirls etc and a very good job inside and out. Gets busy at weekends as the rest around here are diabolical. Not sure about the soft top though?

Well done! That is dedication, washing it by the bucketload. Why dont you get a long hose with an attachment to your kitchen sink, then you can run it right out into the street, be good for blasting into all the crevices and in the wheel arches.
The street is used alot by people walking from the banks to get lunch etc, i thought spraying people in suits with a hose might get me in trouble.. Gassing Station | London | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
