The gf is heading down to london with her pal next week for a ladies weekend, during which they're going to see Wicked (apparently based on the fact that Lee Mead is performing in it) at the Apollo Victoria. I want to book/buy dinner for them but am struggling to find somewhere - only been to London once. Was looking at Olivomare however it only starts serving at 1900 and the show is at 1930, then there was Le Cercle which was promising since it also has a cocktail bar but it's also quite a late starting reservation and looks like the courses may take a while to serve.

Can anyone suggest a good British/Italian/Seafood type place ideally in walking distance to the theatre? The search sites are pretty pants, maybe I've not found the best comparison sites (there are rather a few more restaurants to wade through in London than Glasgow has!), any help would be greatly appreciated, ideally looking for somewhere that they can have a meal and a cocktail before going to the theatre. Alternatively if there is a seperate cocktail bar in the area that they can go to after dinner that would be great too.

Cheers

(I am going to play so much xbox that weekend)

ETA - I am a plonker and just noticed that they have some pre theatre links on the Apollo site, but they aren't that exciting. Any Londoner tips would still be great.

There aren't really any 'special' places to eat in Victoria but there are places like Wagamama etc in nearby Cardinal Place http://www.cardinalplace.co.uk/shops-offers/store-...
There are also a number of places in nearby Wilton Road which are okayish - a nice Greek Place,Dim Sum,an Argentinian place and a few others.
Both Wilton Road and Cardinal Place are less than a minute from the Apollo.
There are some nicer places in Belgravia,Chelsea,St James etc but these are all a cab ride away really.

The Ebury is a really nice gastropub - better than the average. Could do worse.

You could try the Goring hotel which is 2min from Victoria station. Have not been for years, but it was a traditional British hotel/restaurant.

Mango Tree is nice for thai food and does good cocktails in their bar too. http://www.mangotree.org.uk/

There's Bumbles who do good british food (apparently - not yet been) - http://www.bumbles1950.com/

Thanks for the suggestions, it does seem a bit lacking in places that will suit a theatre show opening time in that area. Think I've decided on http://www.thebotanistonsloanesquare.com/index.php... The Botanist as the menu is pretty good and they seem to do great cocktails too, one stop away on the tube but they seem fine with that.

Cheers
