If you have to ask, you're not on the list.

With alot of the 'exclusive' clubs you either have to be a face or a registered member to get through the door, or be with one of the above.

Given that these places are predominately full of hood rats chasing footballers and plastic gangstars funding their evening of flash on a credit card it can't be that hard to get your name on the list via their respective websites.

You have no chance getting into West End "name" nightclubs (Tramp, Aura, Buddha, Embassy, Mahiki Movida etc etc) without being known to the doormen / paying for a table.

To be honest you aren't missing much really....

Except really expensive drinks, plastic Z list celebrities, and being surrounded by tts with more money than sense.

Wow. I must have been lucky the numerous times I've been to several of those places then. Usually after several beers after work!

Ring up/ look on their websites and see if you can get onto the guestlists.

Only times I've been to places like this are when I've gone with people from work. Tbh, I wasn't all that impressed as the drinks were overpriced and other customers weren't the sort of people I'd choose to mix with normally.

Damn. I'm not a z-list celeb and I whilst I only have a modicum of sense, I know that I have even less money. I guess that must mean I'm a tt. hehe

Working in the West End doesn't help! But if it helps you to pigeon hole, I can live with that. biggrin

Most of these people don't seem to know what they're talking about...

Usually up to 3 unaccompanied guys can get in with no guest list, if they start queing early (max 11pm), they are smartly dressed, and they don't look dodgy/drunk/disorderly/rude.

After 11pm, you really need to be an evenly mixed group of girls/guys or you will have no chance.

Some places are easier than others, e.g. Movida, Chinawhite, sometimes Mahiki. Cuckoo Club and Maddox are very very hard, even if you have a lot of girls with you.
Other places worth checking: Cirque du Soir, Amika, Luxx, Vendome.

Vendome.
Ahh.. Vendome... Last time was there with another PH'er I worked with (SiCob) when I was living in the UK... got a table and a magnum of Vodka - menu price was £300 ish.. by the time they bought it to the table, we paid the "tip", tbe "tip on the tip" and the mandatory "mug off charge" it ended up more like £500. Then we invited a bunch of slappe... errr I mean girls to drink with us - which they did, sitting on our table and not talking to us!! We swapped them with a bunch of girls who looked more gagging.. no, no I mean nice homely girls - he then proceeded to drop and smash the bottle of vodka on the ground (not that we were hammered mind...)

All in all a good evening!

Agree with that. I'm generally only ever in one if I'm already pissed, or the drinks are free. biggrin

Try the londonparties or metparties websites for guestlists, free to register. Also as said you may be able to get on the list via the club's website.
Wednesday and Thursday nights generally have a nicer atmosphere than the weekends.

They are much of a muchness; you can expect:
Hot looking girls but they are looking for footballers
£10 for a drink
£20 for entry
rubbish music, usually rnb
Nowhere to sit unless you book a table, which will have a large minimum spend

Wasted too much money in these places!

Best solution if you really want to go to these places is get on a host's table or contact a host to buy a table. Starts at £500 to buy a table usually, to attend a host table entrance fee. Buying a table you get maybe some mixes and some clubs give you small bottle of grey goose or something. But depends where you are, who you are, who you know and on what night you go.

If you know the right people you can have a fantastic night which doesn't cost you much at all. If you don't you'll need a fat wallet for a good night. Value for money is either the vodka or champagne as oppose to beer.

To be honest, you can get on a good host table with some free drink and entry to m,ovida on a wednesday, and a bottle of the cheapest champagne (make sure you ask for the cheapest bottle rather than by name! Classy!) on a Wednesday night, and you may not even spend 100. Alternatively you could easily blow a grand with a few select choices.

I've had nights that have cost me a fortune and nights that have cost me literally nothing with the best table and more than you can drink. Contacts are everything. On the door if you turn up, it's if your face fits, have the right image. Most clubs are very anal about balances of race, male / female, appearance. They discriminate on just about everything.

Try guestlistme, GLM.co.uk for hosts.

Best advice is to act as shady with your cash as you would in some foreign strip joint, dont sitdown or buy anything without a price attached and standing at the bar, to avoid being mugged off.

All in all it can be a great night though.

Alternatively, cut through all the pomp and ceremony and sink a few sherberts with mates who you want to be around in a boozer that you want to be in and if you want to enjoy pretty girls, spend the monkey you intended to do on a bottle of vodka, in Spearmints instead.
