Not sure where to post this really. Music as I'm going to a gig? Travel as its about getting home? Please move where appropriate mods!

Anyhow, I'm going to see Muse at Wembley stadium on Saturday! (Excited) - Not sure what time it finishes but I'm staying at a hotel in London Kew (http://www.premierinn.com/en/hotel/BREPTI/london-kew - does anyone know the nearest tube station?)

So I'm just wondering how late the tube stays open for? Or how easy it would be to get a taxi back after the gig? Would it be better to book one in advance, and if so does anyone have any good firms to use?

Cheers.

The tube will probably still be running unless it's a very late gig

Kew IIRC is down Richmond way so maybe best bet would be to get the Tube to Waterloo then a train from Waterloo to Richmond and then a cab?

Or and this may be better having checked a map

Tube from Wembley to Paddington and then District Line to Kew

Hotel is here - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&a...

I'm thinking Gunnersbury > Wembley Central for the tube there. (overground, change at Willesden, then bakerloo)

Gig will finish about 10.30 probably, by the time we're out and at Wembley Central it could be well past 11, how late do they run?

I think the last tube is at midnight

Check out www.tfl.gov.uk

If you put in your from and to in there and time of day it will let you know what is the best route whats available etc but honestly I think the tube will be running still..

Looks like I can get the 23:10 - that'll probably be a bit of a rush to get to!

Any suggestions for cabs? I assume it might be a better idea to walk into wembley to get one than hang round outside the stadium?

A cab to where? Kew? You'd be looking at a fair whack for that!!

Hotel is just down the road from Brentford rail station. 5 miles by road. How much would that be in a cab? This is why I'm wondering if I should book ahead

Ah I am with you now

Yeah definitely book otherwise the only things about will be Black Cabs and even that trip will be fairly expensive

Maybe see if the hotel can recommend a firm, there will also be a shed load of illegal cabs around there after a gig but I wouldn't recommend these unless there are a few of you, they can work out nice and cheap though wink

it can take upto 40 minutes to get onto the tube at the main wembley station - its easy to get to though as most people go that way

the biggest problem i had was that i wanted to go to kings cross but with the trains they would shuttle them off to baker street and dump everyone off in central london and the train would go back for more

so you may find the train you are on terminates early / or a lot of trains dont go all the way down the line, instead they will dump people off at another major station where they can get links to elsehwere

i have managed to get dumped off at baker street quite a few times! that must have been on the metropolitan line.

Yeah, I'm tempted to take the hit and pay for a taxi to reduce the stress of the tube/trains.

Just need to find a few decent quotes, I've got one for £33 from http://www.minicabsinlondon.com/

No worries smile

I actually think £33 isnt that bad for that journey at that time of night if I am honest

You could try Addison Lee I have used them before

Alright thanks a lot guys! I've booked a cab in advance, don't want the risk of missing trains and having a cold/annoyed girlfriend!
