Hotel for London Eye

I am in London this weekend and looking for a hotel very close to London Eye, Have found one of the travel lodge places that is 20 mins on the tube but really am looking for a short walk.

Also how far is Tower of London from The Eye ?

20 mins on the tube covers about half of London

I've stayed at the Royal Horseguards, across the river, not ludicrously expensive

Tower is a long stroll along the river, seeing all the sights, about an hour

edit: or a little tourist boat ride I suppose

Marriott at City Hall is right next door.

Or there is a premier lodge type place about 5 mins walk away.

I stayed at the Strand Palace Hotel on the Strand. Short walk to the wheel.
