Working in Battersea - Where to live?

Hi,

I'll be starting a new job in Battersea soon and will need to find some accommodation. I'm not very familiar with the pros and cons of most London area's.

I would like to live as close to work as possible to avoid slogging it out on the tube, I'd also consider cycling.

Any recommendations for an pleasant area close to a nice park, the tube and good shops/pubs/food would be appreciated.

Battersea itself is quite nice. The shops are nothing to write home about but the pubs and restaurants are good and it's close to Lavender Hill, Battersea Park and the river.

Clapham is close by, with lots of places to shop and eat out. Depends on what your budget is and what you expect to get really. How soon do you need to find a place as I may have something suitable?
