blackwall tunnel closure chaos

did anyone else have a 10 minute journey extended to an hour long crawl due to the chaos caused by the blackwall closure over the weekend?

next ones are:
21:00 Friday 9 July - 05:00 Monday 12 July
21:00 Friday 16 July - 05:00 Monday 19 July
21:00 Friday 10 September - 05:00 Monday 13 September
21:00 Friday 1 October - 05:00 Monday 4 October

Jesus. Was a total nightmare this weekend just gone.
Luckily I spent most of it down in Surrey but even still, was frightful getting back.

perfect tvr/ fezza driving conditions eh?

noticed we now live in a 20mph zone too. at least salter/redriff has stayed at 30.

There were signs coming down the M1 yesterday afternoon at about 4.30 that the southbound tunnel was closed. I suppose this was due to an accident rather than the works they're doing.
Nightmare either way.

was works. first of 5 weekends of full closure between now and october. the other dates are above.

Ah, I just noticed the times were the Friday till the Monday.
Are both northbound and southbound closed on those dates?

Indeed. I was down at Goodwood Sunday morning. If I'd thought of it, I'd have asked if you fancied coming along. Next time.

You can't go southbound during these and the regular Sunday to Thursday night time closures. All north bound traffic goes through the southbound bore at 20mph.
Every Sunday morning 1am to 8am the southbound tunnel is closed yet again for it's own maintenance.
