Hi folks, just hoping someone with some local knowledge can help me out; I'm taking my mum to see Billy Elliot at Victoria Palace Theatre for her birthday next weekend but there's a raft of strikes scheduled for the rail network apparently.

She's in Teddington and we were going to get the train in from there. However, thanks to the stty public transport system and their Unionised aholes, we'll be driving in. That being the case, am I right in thinking there's no CC on a weekend? Can anyone recommend a place to park for most of the afternoon and evening that won't cost an arm and a leg?

We were going to make a day of it as I don't see her much and we were planning to eat and do a spot of shopping. Where should I be parking?

Worst thing is, I fking hate musicals. I'm gritting my teeth and doing it for her as she loves them!

As Mr Baldy said, Westminster parking charges are till 1.00 (double check!) on a Saturday.
So you can park off Victoria Street towards the Parliament Square end of it, only a 10 minute walk down to the theatre.

I used to live in Pimlico (5-10 minute walk to Victoria Station). You can park all day Saturday free of charge, the restrictions are only Monday - Friday. Look around Ecclestone Square, Warwick Square and the surrounding streets. You will definitely find a space no problem.

Thanks chaps, am checking to see when the rail strikes are; it appears they may not actually kick in until the Tuesday after Easter weekend. If we have to drive in I'll be heading for one of the spots you've recommended though! smile
