Heading to Ring and Spa at end of May and need helmet / gloves.

New to track days so want to purchase in person rather than on line to ensure correct fit / type.

Am in Docklands, East LN....any recommendations for local retailers ?

The only place I can think of in London is Pole Position in Regent Street http://www.regentstreetonline.com/RegentStreet/Sho... although I'm not sure they stock helmets (certainly do race suits, gloves etc). Unfortunately the place I went to in West London has now closed and their other branch is at Silverstone http://www.gprdirect.com/aboutgpr.html. I was going to suggest going to Brands Hatch, but I have a feeling that their shop stocks mainly merchandise, not race wear. I can recommend a place in Kent http://www.advanced-wear.co.uk/ that do made to measure race suits, and supply gloves, vests etc, (not sure if you can try on helmets there though) if that's of any use?

You could also try some of the Karting circuits, for example Lakeside Karting, Buckmore Park & Rye House. As these will have a shop on site for you to try stuff on.

I just went down to Road and Racegear in ealing today. Bloke seemed really good and was quite helpful with my helmet as i needed to get it relined. Was really good he didn't even try to sell me a new helmet just said he would get it relined. Really impressed with the service

i second that www.roadandracegear.co.uk been using these guys for a few months now, the service is 1st class just been in there at the weekend and found out they are now the new puma motorsport dealers doing all the custom puma racewear!! that used to be GPR so not sure whats happened there??

Can't reccomend these chaps personally, but planning to pop down when I'm in the area next to pick up a new race suit - friend bought one and it looks very good quality and someway cheaper than what you normally pay..
