I've been invited to a friend's 50th birthday party at Trader Vics in the Park Lane Hilton this Saturday night.

Now, I haven't been to Trader Vics for nigh on thirty years. To be honest, I'm amazed that it's still called that after so much time.

Anyhoo, I'm going to drive and the hotel website says that it has a 200 space car park.

My question to any of you West End sophisticates who can help me is whether there's any chance that I'll be able to park in the hotel car park, or whether I should opt for the Marble Arch NCP instead?

Thanks.

IIRC you can park around the back of the Hilton/Hard Rock Cafe for free after 6:30pm on a Saturday night

Going up in the world I see mate! Better take plenty of cash. I couldn't believe I was charged £6.80 for a bottle of Becks there last time. Rapidly persuaded my more affluent friends to move to somewhere of a more mutually agreeable price range.

They appeared to have some sort of vallet parking going on at the front. I stared for a while as two 599s, a Veyron and a Phantom Coupe rolled up in quick sucession - maybe if you stick some UAE plates on the Strat they'll wave you straight in? smile

Ah Blib,

It's a shame that it's not running Lucas electrics as I have a spare jar of Lucas dashboard smoke in the garage which you could borrow.

Now, I know that motoring stereotypes are cliched and in-accurate, but - on paper - by combining a (non-conductive) fiberglass body, with Italian componentry and kit car construction, you may just have created the ultimate tempramental device!

I'm not talking to you at the moment Gary. I keep hoping you'll show up at the Plough and you never do. I so love your Sprite.

Chris, unfortunately I believe that you may be on to something.
