I'm living in London for a while and dopn't know anyone up here! I've moved to a new area in the past and joined a social club, but searching for London comes up with a million and one things. Has anyone been in the same boat and found a good social club type thing in central town that they can recommend?

Thanks :-)

Not sure about clubs, but if you want to meet people join a class. There isn't a subject you can't learn here - so take advantage and join up to the pigeon-photography-jogging class - or something

Someone at work recommended www.spicelondon.co.uk to me as I'm in a similar situation. She went along to her first social outing with them and said it was a good opportunity to meet new people. Don;t know if anyone else on here has head of them?

I've also moved it to the London forum, so you should get a load of local responses smile

Yep, they do events all over the country - our archery club puts on beginner's courses for them. Great fun!

That's exactly what I was going to say. Or poledancing, you would meet most of PH doing that.

Where are you living?

Hi,

Thanks for all your posts. I'm not really looking to meet anyone romantically, but just a mixed group of men and women and really in need of friends up here. Thask for the invite to the PH meeting too but I'm not very into cars - odd I know for someone on a car chat forum ;-)

Hi Sarah W,
While not wanting to alienate you from a car forum or seem at all xenophobic (in an vehicular sort of way). I was wondering while looking at the questions which you have asked in your previous threads, why Piston Heads? as it seems an unusual forum to ask questions almost entirely about leaseholds, maintenance and non car releted topics?
Don't get me wrong, as it's lovely to have you here but it's hardly the font of all knowelege about non car related stuff.
I'll prepare myself to get flamed.

You forget: we know EVERYTHING here. hehe

Sarah - keep an eye on the 'Events' forum, there will almost certainly be 'runs' to the Brooklands meet. Get up early and go for a (probably 'spirited') drive. People are always friendly, especially as you have a nice car.

Cause she's into her bikes, and we all know that Bikes will be the main focus on here in due course.

Her questions don't have anything to do with bikes either!
