Hi Guys,

I am thinking of buying a place in fulham in the gated developments of Brompton Park Crescent which is between fulham broadway and west Brompton tube stations.

Is this area safe ? any views, opinions ?

many thanks

A couple of friends have lived there for as long as I've known them (so 7 plus years) and they like it.

Of course, it's in close proximity to Stamford Bridge and noise / traffic etc from CFC matchdays.

Nice enough area. Not far from the Fulham Rd and Kings Rd, but perhaps a bit close to Earls Court. The road links out of town are good. And bear in mind that the West London Line runs along one side and the District line along another, so there might be some train noise depending on which side of the estate you're on.

Do you know if they have garages in the complex or is just off street parking?

Will do, prices and development seem good, need to check price of service charge too, although with 300 flats should be ok.

you can get a 2 bedroom flat for 450k to 540k. service charge is less than £3000 a year.
very nice place, safe and secure with its own private park.

Stick with the Porsche - when you move you'll have Chelsea Carrera Porsche indy literally across the road from you:

Callaghan - there's also parking available in the warehouse there, lots of exotica under covers, the guys at CC would probably be able to help you sort that out if you were interested.

I haven't been into that development for a couple of years, but I can't remember there being garages.

Just around the corner however there is a car storage facility on Farm Lane
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.482425,-0.19556...

In my honest opinion, there seems to be an unreasonable premium placed on those apartments. It's close to Chelsea football club, i think it looks a bit like an old people's sheltered housing scheme and think similar money would be better spent in a more period property around there. (as I said just my opinion, no offence meant). I've been to a number of those flats, this isn't ignorant ranting.

In terms of crime etc. There's a housing estate along Farm lane too, next to the NatWest on Fulham broadway, which increases the number of kids, vandals etc, but that's pretty much the same wherever you are in Fulham.

Best of luck with your search. I've lived in Fulham 8 years now, and I wouldn't move (unless I left London completely). Great place to live

Registered my interest but was informed there are no garages apart from potentially the ones Chris mentioned. I am ideally looking for somewhere with safe parking hopefully a garage.

Have you thought about down towards Sand's End, near Wandsworth Bridge (south Fulham)? They have underground parking and some pretty impressive flats looking over the river.

There are also a gated development at the top end of Imperial Lane and Bagleys Lane, had a look at a place there many years ago, definitely off street parking but can't remember if they had garages.

If you're happy to be away from broadway, there's Alder Lodge and the other developments on Stevenage Road down by Bishops Park. Nice river location, Bishops Park is a great attraction and due to get some funding through to perk it up a bit (adding a beach apparently?!?).

Cheers Chris, what I am finding is many of these gated flats are in redevelopment areas. I am seeing a block of flats later in Hampstead which I think will be more what I am looking for.....
