anyone live in Earlsfield ?
Discussion
I live nearby and used to do lettings there. Its a generally good 'up and coming area'. Great train link to Waterloo. Good supply of houses and flats, both character, private and council/ ex-council if you're renting. The high street hasn't been hit too much with the corporates so there is a nice mix of independant shops and restaurants. Very mixed community, lots of South Africans and Aussies. Good selection of decent pubs. Either end of the town has a few council estates which can be a bit dodgy but nothing to worry about if you're used to London living.
Hope that helps

That's a pretty good summary - we lived on Earlsfield road (Clapham end, opposite the prison!) for a couple of years - I liked it, my missus liked it - we had a flat with a roof terrace, it was away from everything, and kind of close to everything, you can walk back from Clapham (or get the 77), you're close to Tooting for your curries & spices, London is about 10 minutes away. You're at Gatwick in 45 minutes. The Leather Bottle is a good pub (old oust house), how old are you? - pint of bitter and a double vodka and soda costed nine quid twenty...
They were doing up the Freemasons when we left... there were some nice people living around us - an unhealthy amount of porches and new Italian stuff...
...and one mystery guy with some nice 60's/70's Alfa's in his drive... always had interesting cars popping in and out - Approached him one day and said how much I liked the motors... he quietly said 'keep watching'. Opened his garage door, walked in and pushed out an immaculate silver 1962 250 GT/L Berlinetta,
I f**kin shat myself...
It took a short while to appreciate Earlsfield, but if you look you'll find it, but that's probably true of anywhere...
It's what you make it, there are more pretentious middle class areas you could live...
I have fond memories of Earlsfield... but them I'm now 10,277 miles away...
