This is the new, tidied up thread for those wishing to attend the second North London Pistonheads get together.

We will be meeting at The Plough pub in Crews Hill. (link here)

http://www.theploughcrewshill.com/

The Plough is the bend of Cattlegate Road, just up from Jollyes the pet store and is amongst the many garden centres on that road. There's a large car park with an area cordoned off for us if we wish it and if there are enough of us to warrant it and beer garden

Please add your name to the list if you intend to come. Especially if you would like to have some food.

The first meet was a lot of fun and this time, as an extra special attraction and if the rain stays away 67Rob will be bringing his 'Eleanor' Mustang along! cloud9

So, put your name down and come along and join us.

16/7/2008 - 19.00 hours or when you arrive.

Is that the one near Cuffley with the three big yumps on it? If so I discovered that last night, but rapidly found it wasn't TVR-exhaust-compatible. smile

Hmm, depends on your definition of young and poor - I'm 25 and my TVR cost less than some PHer's idea of a good night out. biggrin
From the other thread so I didn't cause confusion.

I am 19 and my car is a 15 year old volkswagen polo. So I am younger and own a poorer persons car, although I still maintain my car could hold its own. Well it can as soon as I can get into the ECU banghead

Ok, you win. paperbag

It's a very friendly crowd though, not the usual cliquey car club affair!

At my current rate I am going be riding my bike there.

Got into the ECU and during a spot of spirited driving the clutch cable broke. So that bring the total to 3 cables in 2 months.

Time to rebuild the gearbox and fit new clutch pressure plate

I've had some problems with the brakes on 'Eleanor' since last year and we thought that it was sorted but today the problem has come back with a vengeance.
The system has a bias proportioning valve and it has decided to play silly buggers meaning the rears lock solid to the point that I can't drive off. It's like the car is bolted to the floor.
Anyway, she goes in this Thursday to have this problem sorted once and for all, so, in the event that I don't get her back in time I wil attend the meet in the other 'stang. This one is still loud (though not as loud as 'Eleanor), so I'm sure I can still annoy the noise policebiggrin.

Sorry to hear about the problems with Eleanor Rob. Oh the joys of owning highly strung motors. I'm sure whichever 'stang you show up in will be an extremely impressive noise and I for one will be pleased to see either as such a big V8 fan. yum

where do you take your car?

is it an automatic adjusting valve or a manual one?

There's a couple of places. Rob and Martin Waters are twins who have a private workshop in Cuffley. Really nice guys and very knowledgable.
The other place is Dave Pollen Enterprises. He's in Ponders End and that's where she's going this week.
The adjustment is manual but it's jammed and we think the valve is operating randomly.

Excellent! I'd just been for a mini hoon and was heading back to Southgate. I've been in Portugal on holiday for a week and had desperate withdrawal symptoms. I needed to get out, even if it was in Sunday afternoon traffic. rofl

Are you bringing the Cayman on Wednesday CTD? God, I love the shape of those cars. IMO they are the most beautiful of the current Porsches.

I was not driving, I was being co-pilot for my auntie. Its taken some convincing but she is finally coming around the idea of driving it with enthusiasm.

I cant see her wanting to stand in a carpark although I will try. Why do you need a porshe, my J-Reg VW is beautiful tongue out
