American, looking for a place to rent in London. I will be working during the week in NW London (Regents Park Uni), and during the weekend will be traveling.

Will be in London for a year, starting August 10th.

Can anybody provide any accomodation (just need a bed to sleep in at night), or recommend anything?

Looking for something simple.

Appreciate helping out a fellow Lotus owner.

Hi,

Try looking at
http://www.andrewsonline.co.uk/renting-letting/ind... but local papers are best for renting of just rooms rather than flats and houses. This is a good local newspaper for South London

Welcome to London.

You've picked one of the most expensive parts of London to study!
The colleges usually have a database of suitable properties and it would be worth contacting them. You could try "Micheal Charles Lettings" in Camden Town NW1 020 7428 0520 but they will most probably only know about houses and flats (apartments) to let rather than flat shares.
Also try the student's union if you college has one.

Good luck

Yes, gumtree is good for this kind of thing.

Hi,

I've only looked at the outskirts, but http://www.rightmove.co.uk/ , http://www.propertyfinder.com/ and http://www.findaproperty.com/ were the best for me.

Enjoy London!

Welcome to London. For a night out, plenty of septics used to go to Kavanagh's in South Ken is a laugh (a fair few squaddies go there too though) Wish I could help with the room, hope you find something decent. Clapham has some decent bars, IIRC someone had somewhere near that area.
