Morning all,

This might seem a weird question, but does anyone know of any Karaoke bars in Central London (ideally Covent Garden-ish) where you can just rock up, buy some beers and put your name down on a list?

I've been looking for somewhere on a Thursday evening, but all I can find is places where you seemingly have to pay extra to rent some poxy little box room to sing in private???

I'd like to do something like that sometime but do you know if the karaoke systems they use allow the key of the songs to be adjusted to suit your vocal range. I can sing lots of songs but not always in the key of the most well known versions.

I suspect the ones with the private hire booths probably can. I'm more after the traditional "bunch of pissed people after a Christmas work do wanting to have some fun screaming "Fairy tale of New York" into a microphone" version! hehe

Maybe you need to google pubs/bars that do karaoke nights, rather than looking up karaoke bars (which are generally all bookable rooms)

Think they are few and far between though as most punters dont care for it anymore it was very 1990s!

Remind me NOT to go to any of those venues.
