London Underground - a great alternative to driving?

Don't abandon your cars in favour of public transport just yet. This just received from Transport For London,

"On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July, there will be various closures and disruption across the London Underground due to staff shortages in our control room.

There will be no service on:
• Circle line all weekend
• Hammersmith & City line all weekend
• District line between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington from the morning until around midday each day.
• Metropolitan line until 12:00 each day."

Damn. If only London had other types of public transport the we wouldn't have this problem.
