Hi there, i hope i am posting in the right place, apologies if not, i am not normally a social media type person!

We live just inside the new LEZ (by about 100m going from the sign at the end of our road). We have lived here for 40 years and had horses all that time. Unfortunately i dont have the funds to replace my horse lorry with a euro 6 compliant (and not sure i would if I had the money given the lorry is only used every few weeks) as this would be in access of £60k. I have had a letter from TFL advising me of the "fines" but not sure (from my limited knowledge of all things technical) if there are actual cameras that would capture me at the end of my road. I only ever go this 100m stretch to get to horse shows via M25 or other dual carriage ways so wondering wether it was worth the gamble? There is a zebra crossing within this 100m and for years a sign there (its gone mouldy) saying there are automatic number plate recognition cameras but i can only see what look like flood lights. Have taken a picture but nervous of posting it here incase someone from TFL recognises it and puts cameras up!! Any advise would be greatly welcomed.

thanks

Hi,

Are you sure the LEZ area is getting modified ?
The ULEZ yes, but not the LEZ...

All information needed: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/low-emission-zone...

Regarding an "exemption" because you have horses and no founds to change your van, I don't see on which basis they would grant it to you... A lot of people are already impacted on their finances due to the ULEZ expansion, and I don't see how they would justify some exemptions, and not others.

Surely, if it is only 100m, you can park further, and let the horse(s) walk(s) the last meters ?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am fairly certain there are no active cameras as I have since registered with TFL and driven through and not been charged. Having driven around and had a good look at other local roads i think its just the main roads entry points that have cameras. Fingers crossed it stays this way.
Sadly i dont have the option of parking the lorry just outside of the zone as a) i cant just leave it on the side of the road and b) its dangerous to pull the ramp down and load or unload a horse(s) in the middle of a road.
Thanks again for your help.
