Pit start, self service garage! Park Royal west London
Discussion
I went there I think late 2018. It is very different from the expectations you might have from reading the website.
Every single bay is rented by a mechanic who is running a business from that lift/bay. Most bays were packed with old in-process cars, the place was very busy.
It's not the nicest of places.
Bays are a hassle to rent.
Having rented a bay before I arrived, I then had a stroppy mechanic who clearly was there everyday asking why I wanted "his" bay. Asking what I was doing that required a lift, and why couldn't I just use a bay without a lift.
Tools weren't available.
I asked for a socket and a breaker bar. These were given to me by someone who worked behind the desk. But it turned out it belonged to another mechanic. A "discussion" then kicked off about whose tools they were etc.
If you go in with your eyes open to the above, then you'll be fine. Just don't expect somewhere clean, or with any helpful camaraderie.
