Car Events in London between now and Le Mans??

Is there anything going on in the next month or so that would be worth a day out from Nottingham?

I know the cars of London are often very exotic and worth a look on their own but I would like to try and combine my trip with something else if possible.

Last year I came down to London to see the Cannonball start, is there anything coming up??

Not from Nottingham really mate. There's the usual stuff, no-rice, ace cafe etc..

The Mid-Essex TVRCC meet at Great Totham, Essex is on the Sunday (followed by a short London tunnel cruise).

always amuses me to see this. there is even a website. i guess it's purely down to jealousy... not being able to get insurance on imports and having slower/boring standard choices of cars. go to a jap car meet and the average BHP is probably about 250bhp (with realistic top BHP cars of 800bhp etc) and typically the shape is a sports coupe vs "no-rice" which is probably around 100bhp (with chavs lying that their rusty nova has 4000bhp) and a family hatchback. *shrug*

fair enough. just when it says 'no-rice' and i read on other forums the negativity towards japanese sports cars... I mean, why not call it 'Dubs Only. Or something.

It's an evolution of the term 'rice'. As in unnecesary bolt on plastic crap, lights, spoilers, gadgets....

I can see how it could be mis-interpreted, though. Fair point.

Ah. I thought rice was a reference to all things japanese, as mentioned in a much earlier thread by someone else when I questioned it. cf american version of rice which refers to maxxed up low budget jap hatchbacks. Confusing, eh
