Wapping - Advice re. short stay.
Discussion
Hi,
Friends of mine from Sweden are thinking of visiting LOndon in October for 6 nights.
They have been looking on the normal sites but having never visited London before so have no idea what areas are ok, safe, easy to reach central London, good for eating out etc..
I'm a country boy so have no idea either so need a little help.
They have seen a 2 bed aprtment near to Tobacco Docks in Wapping for a decent price.
What is Wapping like as a base for a London visit?
Cheers

It's not souless, but it is pretty quiet - although not far from the centre, and you are just a couple of stops away from the Jubilee and District Lines so doesn't take long to get up to Embankment/Bond St etc...
Depends what your friends are looking for really - if cobbled streets, old warehouses and river-side pubs, plus being close to Tower Bridge and St Katherine Docks appeals then they'll like it. If they're looking for somewhere lively that's close to lots of bars and restaurants then they'd be better off heading further west.
