Have to make this trip tomorrow. Not a London regular so thought cab will be easier.....is that daft? If it's under £20 i font care....but will it take longer with traffic???

If I was going to Camden I wouldn't start from Paddington.

Depends on where in Camden.

It's not that bad a journey - when I've done it I've gone bakerloo to oxford circus -> victoria line to euston -> northern line to camden town. Then it's walk / bus time.

That said, cabs aren't too expensive to Camden from Paddington (20 quid or so off the top of my head) so I'd consider this, especially if you have a load of stuff with you / more than one of you / you're going a distance from the tube station.

Too late for you, but tube is dead easy- Paddington to Kings Cross on H & C line, then Northern Line to Camden. Cost will be three quid ish.

What if the OP has a meeting in Camden after a meeting in Paddington? Where you start the journey isn't always optional. Otherwise he could just start from Camden.. He'd be there in no time at all..

Cheers guys - I did the tube in the end - can't belive how easy it was! In the past I'd drive from Reading....but the Reading London train was only 25 mins and then another 20 on the tube. Perfect!

That train line almost makes it plausible to live in Reading, almost.

As I went home I wondered why anyone would live in London! Can drive anywhere, busy, noisey, expensive!

Within an hourish of leaving Chalk Farm I was off for a run in the middle of nowhere...lovely!

(Having said that...I'm 10 mins outside Reading in Wokingham almost - not sure I'd want to live in the middle of town)
