Sky Backstage Pass at the O2 - Checking ID

Does anyone know if they check IDs when you go into the Sky Backstage area at the O2?

Reason I ask is that a mate is going to a gig at the O2 in a few days, and has got a Sky Backstage pass from a friend of a friend (who is not going) and has no ID to associate him to the address of the Sky user.

Based on a sample size of one, they simply scanned the booking form and in we went

AFAIK there are 7 million Sky subscribers in the UK, so it's not too exclusive
