Looking at going to London for my 21st Birthday in a couple of weeks but since it's such a HUGE place I don't even know where to start looking to stay!

Plan is to train down to Liverpool street then get the tube to wherever area we're staying in. Any suggestions?

Kinda begs the question why are you going if you haven't a clue? The streets aren't actually paved with gold any more and most of the nightlife is the same as everywhere else just much more expensive.

Think about what you want to do when here and that will inform you of where to stay and then we can start making recommendations

Harlesdon, Clapham, Brixton, Dalston, Hackney.. Victoria park. I See a lot of people your age hanging about in these areas, they must be the places to go biggrin

Honest answer, 21 year blokes old from Ipswich need to start off in Shoreditch triangle between the high street, great eastern street and old street. Anything you want will be there from food to strippers to pubs to clubs. Its walking distance from Liverpool street and you can move down to brick lane if you get bored of it/ get in a fight/ need more drugs.

Little Butch? Try the Admiral Duncan on Old Compton St and then onto the Shadow Lounge before closing. Should be right up your alley.

Go to Brixton. Shoreditch is pretty pretentious.

Better off buying tickets to something that looks good and going there!

Kensington Roof Gardens (ring up and get on the list), dinner, few grams of charlie ( after dinner), wallet full for the drink and try and pull some posh tottie.

Jobs a good un.

Stay and have your birthday bash at home. It will cost an arm and a leg, some of your mates won't be able to afford it and none of you know where you want to go.

I'm not sure a night out at Rea Valley Tractors is a good way to celebrate a 21st.

Shoreditch. But you need to make some sort of plan especially for later in the evening or a big group of lads won't get into many places.
Bar Kick (shoreditch high street) http://www.cafekick.co.uk/bar-kick/ is a good place to start.

Cheers for the advice. Shoreditch got mentioned a few times and as its within walking distance from liverpool street might be worth a look into! I'm on my phone so ill google more info/hotels when I get onto a proper computer but any info on what its like there, different clubs etc?
The plan is to go down late afternoon, grab a half decent meal then go out and get utterly battered... Crawl back to the hotel then catch the train home the next day smile

+1

For a world city, London is surprisingly quiet after 11pm.
I've had wilder nights out in Augsburg.

Stay home and what you would have spent on a lot of overpriced
drinks, food and accommodation can be spent on beer and women.

If you eat in the restaurant above the club first, can you gain entry to club afterwards, despite not being members?
