Hi all,

I'm getting married on the 13th July and I was wondering if any of you guys might be able to help me out. My fiancée and I are both massive petrol heads (she is MattGTA's sister after all) and so I've been looking around to find something special to drive from the church to our reception. Catherine had very strict requirements on what she wanted but has somehow come to have her heart set on a Ferrari Dino 246GT (what a choice eh?). She turned down my Mx5, maybe because it seems to leak on her every time she's in the passenger seat!

I've talked to a few hire companies (bespokes, ferraricarhire, beau ideal etc) but none seem to be interested in anything other than a 4 day weekend hire - a bit out of budget seeing as we just need it for a few hours and around 30 miles.

If anyone has any ideas as to somewhere in London/Kent/Surrey/Sussex that I might be able to hire a dino as a self-drive for a single day please let me know! Or if on the off chance anyone owns a dino (possibly the most gorgeous car ever made) and would be willing to let me borrow it for a few hours on the 13th July I'm more than happy to pay for insurance, petrol, cabs, beer, physio treatment (I'm a physio by the way!) etc. or name your price and I'll see what we can do!

Many thanks for all your help in advance,

Simon

good luck, very particular taste indeed. self drive hiring by the hour will be a bit of a challenge but I hope you pull it off, good day to get married as I'm doing it on the same day smile

Has she ever sat in one?

Wedding dress might be an issue!

I've told her that there's probably about as much space as the Mx5, and she said she'll make it work - I'm guessing she's not wearing a big dress!

Contact the ferrari owners club and see if any generous owner can be persuaded?

Why havn't you been taken to pieces by the PH mob? I asked for something similar before and got torn a new one. "why'd someone lend you their pride and joy etc" regardless that i'd pay and cover costs.

Anyway, good luck in your quest. I was only after a TVR or something and got no where!

Yeah tried them - they got rid of the dino over the winter :-(

Looks like its a non-starter, may just have to save up and take it out for the weekend and make the most of it one year!

Thanks for your help!

that's a shame, on the positive side i'm sure it won't spoil your day, and you will have a very memorable wedding day.
