From what I read recently it's getting expensive:

Dulwich village is beautiful but pretty expensive, great village atmosphere with the park too. East Dulwich is so much nicer than it used to be too, a bit louder than the village though, think upmarket high street with some really stunning butcher/fishmongers/farm shops in amongst the pubs, bars and restaurants.
My other half grew up there and she turned out alright so it can't be that bad :-)

Used to live there for 15 years, schools great for 5-11 year old but not so good 11+ ( unless you want to pay-then excellent). Transport to London ok, look towards Honour Oak area, then you get three options of overland station, close enough to walk if need be( 5 miles).
Prices vary road by road dependant on many factors.
Lots of good pubs and restaurants, loads of green spaces-Peckham Park(***) and Dulwich Park(*****)
Theres a few negatives;
Lots of yellow crime boards appealing for witness'ss( muggings etc), we lived in some nice areas and were burgled 4 times. Cars broken into 5 occasions, vandalised twice.
