I've decided to take the plunge and get my laser eye surgery sorted woohoo

For my sins, I am still an apprentice, so although I have the money for the surgery I've decided to take a Megabus from Norwich to Victoria coach station for the initial appointment to save a few quid.

Anyway, the bus into London is fine with enough time to get to my appointment at 1pm. However the bus home leaves at 8pm leaving me with anywhere up to 6 hours to kill.

What would you see/do in this time? Can't really justify spending that long in the pub just before a 3 hour bus... can I?

This will be on a Saturday if it makes a difference.

If you get a bus or the tube back into the west end after your surgery, you could kill a bit of time shopping and wandering around Soho/Covent Garden/Leicester Square. Then a walk down to Parliament Square which is then only about a 15 minute walk back to Victoria for your bus home.
Or there are the museums in Kensington not too far away from Knightbridge. Depends what you're into and whether you feel 100%.

Will you actually be able to wander around after the surgery? I mean, without a borrowed white stick and Labrador?

Knightsbridge is pants for pubs except for the Nags' Head, I'd go with the museum idea or failing that, take the bus back past Victoria and meet us in the pub with 24 German beers on tap. Can't go wrong.

Ahh, to clarify, it's just the initial appointment. When I book the surgery I'll make arrangements for a hotel for the night nearby as yes, my understanding is, I won't fancy doing much. Didn't realise how close I was to the NHM and the science museum. As much as I love my cars, I'm not quite sure that Park Lane trumps DINOSAURS! </bigkid>

Its a short bus journey to the Museums (Nat History, V&A and Science)

Knightsbridge has 1 or 2 nice shops as well.

If you've never been in Harrods before then go in. The food Halls are amazing, and the HiFi/tele area is pretty cool. The guitar room is off the scale too. (leave your credit card at home smile )

Harrods is overrated although if you've never been you must go. IMHO Selfridges is a lot better, a short 10 min bus ride from Knightsbridge to Marble Arch/Oxford St area.

Get your car detailed at Elite Detail in Kinnerton Street and then go shopping to Christian Louboutin next door in Motcomb street.. no brainer for you and the missus.. Good pub also on the corner of the 2 roads. Good lunch there.

The grenadier is an interesting hidden pub Hidden down a cobbled mews. Very pleasant on a sunny afternoon...If you smoke cigars then the garden room at the lanesborough is quite nice too. V&A museum usually has something interesting on.
