hello folks

i need to get from kent to snowdonia next Monday via Victoria and Haymarket.....

My start time in Vic is 9am with a 3pm meeting in Haymarket - it might drag on a bit so will probably get out about 5pm.

So i was thinking, get up at stupid o'clock and drive to somewhere SAFE where i can park which is close to the M1 with good links to Victoria, park up, go to meeting 1, then meeting 2 then get back to car and escape up the M1. Thoughts?

Anyone got any bright ideas which include safe parking..?

Why would you go up the M1 to Snowdonia?

Take the M40 to Wales (M42, M6 toll etc)- M1 north after 3ish is a no go.
Therefore leave your motor in West London early doors near to a tube station (District line takes you to Victoria from Ealing/Acton/Chiswick).

Try www.parkatmyhouse.com to find a place to park.

Why don't you drive from Kent to somewhere just outside the south of the M25 but on the Victoria line like Redhill or Earlswood or somewhere. Go to Victoria on the train and back to where you parked then jump on the M25 and follow the route to Wales suggested above?

You could do as CraigJM suggested, it certainly gets you to Victoria quicker. You're going to have to negotiate the Western section of the M25 at some point however- I'd rather do it early doors and get it out of the way leaving the back end of the journey easlier. Another alternative is to drive to Uxbridge or even Chesham/Amersham and get the tube in. Be a longer early part but the afternoon gets easier as your motor is outside the busiest parts of London when you exit.

Turn it on its head, drive to somewhere like Kenthouse and train from there to Victoria and back. Easy early part of the journey but the afternoon is then a proper PITA.

Circumnavigating London during the week at rush hour is never easy or pleasant.
