Hi All,

Looking for abit of help if possible please. Me and Miss Trophy are coming down to London in the middle of February for a long weekend. Just wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere good to stay and perhaps a bite to eat?

I've booked the Ice bar on the Saturday when we arrive, but haven't got anything else planned as of yet. Looked at the Mayfair for accommodation but it's looking like £275 plus VAT per night which is a fair amount.

Keen to do the London eye also, can I just turn up or do I pre book tickets?

Coming from Edinburgh so not sure what London has to offer, so any help will be gratefully received.

Yep, pre-book. It's cheaper.

Can't help you on accommodation but what sort of food do you like?

China Town springs to mind for something to eat. wobble

Have you looked at Laterooms for accomodation?

Can't really recommend anywhere as those of us who live here rarely use hotels, try posting in the travel section. smile

Obviously the place is massive so it depends what type of vibe/experience you want! If you are interested to head City/East some ideas:

Try the Boundary (small / boutiquey, not too expensive) http://theboundary.co.uk/

In Clerkenwell try Malmaison http://www.malmaison.com/hotels/london/london-mal.... or the Zetter http://www.thezetter.com/

Another interesting place might be the recently opened St Pancras Grand http://www.marriott.co.uk/hotels/travel/lonpr-st-p...

Deals should be possible on any of those with some googling.

I usually go to Queensway to Royal China for my Chinese.

Recommended especially if you don't go often.
