Looking at firing off a (semi-speculative) job application off over Christmas and it's in and around the above areas. Any general advice from seasoned Londoners appreciated, but also:

- what are those areas like?
- I'd be looking at joining a rented houseshare of likeminded young professional types whilst keeping the house I've bought in Doncaster. £500pcm seems about right going by 1/2 sites I've browsed?
- anywhere to bear especially in mind or avoid?
- anywhere close to those areas that I should be looking at, bearing my rough budget in mind?
- what's the social life likely to be like around there? I've got a few friends in London, but obviously wouldn't be averse to picking up a few more!

No idea about rents but Camden is great (though not very car friendly), Tufnell Park is much more suburban and Parliament hill has axcellent acess to some of the greenest and prettiest parts of London although once again, compared to camden, it's a bit out on a limb (all in my opinion).

I doubt 500 pcm will include bills nor be a very nice room. I live between Palmers Green and Southgate which is on the Picadilly line and a nice (imo) area. I live with several people who commute in from here. It's 500 a month for a huge room and includes all bills and internet.
