Best Firework display? Blackheath or Battersea or alternate?
Discussion
That time of the year again when I score brownie points by taking the other half to a firework display! Anyone able to advise on a display worth seeing in London or around Greater London and surrounding.
Last year was Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire which was was absolutely stunning and had a very community feel, but now living in London so wondering what the alternatives are? A quick google suggests Blackheath is a huge event and free, Battersea seems well established as well although not free (so possibly less busy and less chav types?).
Want the fireworks display itself to be really good, less bothered about the rides and burger stalls around it.

I have not been for a few years but Crystal Palace use to hold a very good display within the park.

I live pretty close to Battersea Park so will be heading there again this year.
Was good last year, but... get there early. The ticketing arrangements through the main entrance were shambollic (sp?). We found another way in, but I would imagine a good number of punters missed the show.
