A colleague has just moved to Hackney and has just told his insurance company that as his hairspray, fake tan and spandex is all adding up he expects to pack the dancing in forseeing a premium rise for moving to an area that only a couple of months ago was one of the badly affected areas during the riots.

Happy to pay an increase, he was shocked to hear that they gave him seven days notice of termination of the policy!! yikes I am sure it is in the T's & C's (and I haven't seen his, so I can't comment), but it made me wonder about some of you chaps on PH who must be affected. Has anything happened to your policies? What have insurers you've spoken to about quoting for new policies said?

My house is near to Croydon (sutton), last year my insurance was £365 for the year, this year, with no change, plus extra year older + extra year no claims, they want £1780 (thats more than I was paying when I first started driving)on a 60bhp, 12 year old peugeot 106.

so nearly a 500% increase in 12 months.......
