Meeting place recommendation

I have to meet an old friend in London and he is coming from Brixton area and would like to meet close to Brixton, Ideally a safe pub quiet enough to chat in private with a pool table would be good, its a daytime meet.

No doubt im completly wrong but the idea of Brixton does not seem to fit in with the above, guess we would be happy to go out of brixton in any direction.

I would recommend you tell them to get a bus or Tube to Vaxhall, and I would recommend either the Vaxhall Tavern or the Queen Anne, both very different pubs, depending on what you are into one or the other will float your boat.

I went to this pub a couple of weeks ago, a short walk from Brixton tube station. The football was on, so it wasn't dead quiet, but it has to be one of the quietest pubs in Brixton you could go too! It's off the beaten track, down a side street, which seemed safe enough at night. But if it's st, don't blame me.

Ha! The Vauxhall Tavern is a gay pub. Quite fun on the right night, but not for the OP I dont think.

Try The Canton Arms in Stockwell. Brilliant beers and food, but still more like a local then gastropub. Its one stop on the tube from Brixton
