Best way from Princes Risborough to Hammersmith

To get from Risborough (terminates at Marylebone) to Hammersmith, what's the best way? Office hours. Cheap is good!

I've come up with:

Train, 2 tubes
Drive
Drive to Amersham, 2 tubes

I'd just drive, assuming you've got somewhere to park in Hammersmith. M40/A40, down West Cross Route, along the bottom of Shepherd's Bush Common and down Shepherd's Bush Road. Traffic generally isn't that bad.

If you want a tube option, I'd probably go for Hillingdon station instead. Just off the A40 (second junction past the M25), cheap all-day parking.

Good news on the traffic, I've done the A40 before and its has been clear at 'rush hour'.

You mean drive to Hillingdon then tube from there? May as well drive all the way, surely? Amersham is a very easy quiet drive, hence why I picked it. It'd take away 'London driving' and I'd just have 1 change. Shame Amersham to Hammersmith is just over an hour.
