Looking for a nice pub for pre dinner drinks. I've been to the Orange Tree and Britannia, but there must be somewhere better for a date with a girl you're keen on. Any locals on here?

If the weather's good, go to the Britannia (down the alleyway by the side of Topshop) it has a cute roof terrace overlooking their back garden.

Alternatively, walk down the river towards Petersham (away from Richmond bridge) and find Steins. It's a german restaurant right on the river that serves huge Bier Krugs

Hmm- Stein's is nice but they make you order food if you want a drink. Bratwurst may not be the best way to start a date!

If the weather is nice the White Swan on the river is good but a little conventional http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub316.php The Cricketers on the green is also a lovely pub http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub1130.php

If it looks like it is going to rain The Duke is also girl friendly http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub1161.php

The Roebuck is nice up on the hill, you can walk across the road and enjoy the view, also the Marlborough is very good up on the hill too, lovely interior and a huge leafy beer garden out the back.
