Today my 89 Esprit Turbo clocked 100,000 miles on the odometer. That and the fact that no one else has posted in this section since last November made for a worthy posting.
It's kind of strange to see all those zeros on the odometer. It's been an awesome car and a purchase I enjoy regularly. well worth the price of admission. there have been a few "moments" through the years but most of them could have been avoided if I had known a bit more and where to find out the info needed.
Purchased from original owner in Jan. of 92 with 1,738 miles on the clock.
A well sorted Esprit is well worth the time and effort and a hell of a car to enjoy.
Plans for the next 100K:
Total respray
Renewed interior
Add inter-cooler pulled from a later S4
More cross country drives.

Hi Al,
First congratulations on a great milestone. I have every intention of shooting for the same life of my Turbo Esprit. I still have that great header you fabricated in the spares locker, but sometime this coming year I am going to pull the engine for a major overhaul and I'll be putting that piece on the car. I just assisted Jim Knowles in getting an engine in and out of an S4S that he's rebuilding and he bolted on the highly polished header from the first run you produced. Here's a picture:
Thanks for all the work you put into developing that piece. I'll send a picture when I finally get mine bolted on. All the best!

I know you have posted this in 2009, but this is the first time I am reading this and I cant say I am surpised that it made to 100K. From my understanding, if these cars are maintained properly and within the normal service intervals they can one of the most reliable exotics around. So, how msny miles are the Esprit as of today may I ask? It's kind of strange to see all those zeros on the odometer.
