Stuck rear hatch

Help: Rear hatch stuck, it accidently grabbed after re-installing it when I was lowering it to make sure that it cleared the roof. The male female/ ends grabbed and will not pull up on the left side even though cable does pop up, you cannot open it. What can I do? Thanks for any help, signed Feeling stupid!
