My TVR S2 speedo dial is working when attached to an electric drill that drives the sensor, but the speedo sensor helical gear tooth is damaged and doesn't work reliably when connected to the gearbox.
Anyone managed to lay their hands on a replacement helical gear and/or an S2 speedo sensor? Motaclan parts say there is zero chance of a replacement unit frown
(even thought it is supposed to be based on a Ford Granada sensor which you would have thought would be plentiful...)
At present my plan is to remove the entire sensor unit and reverse engineer a replacement helical gear from a local machine shop.

Hi, It's a type N gearbox. The MT75 was fitted a bit later and is the exception rather than the rule according to Steve Heath's manual.
Presumably a series 9 gear won't fit.

Aha! Many thanks for that. Confusing that an N gearbox is actually a type 9 smile.
Should help with the quest to get a replacement working speedo.
I've bought a GPS speedo in the meantime as a quick workaround , but I want to get the proper dial speedo working.
