My gunson fault finder says my vane air flow meter 2 voltage is reading too low(Is meter 2 top or bottom), hopeing this is earthing prob but cannot follow wiring back to earth point only ECU. Have cleaned earth in front of passenger footwell and one in front of driver footwell and by battery. Any more I could look for?? Car will not Idle at start up but will just about when warmed up, also gaggs occasionally.

Could be a dodgy connection on the meter itself, is that a code 36?, try cleaning the plug connector on the meter, the meter numbers can be either top or bottom as it depends on which plug is where as one has 3 terminals the other has 4 (one is white I think)

Cheers LeeBee,
Does this mean the connection are interchangable? if so I could swap them and redo the test, if it still says meter two that would indicate connection/wiring prob, if it changes to meter 1 then that indicates connection/unit prob!!!

As an aside....

Do we think it matters which colour (white or black) is on the top air flow meter. Ihave the white one on the top meter and I know other cars with it on the bottom meter.

Any observations or ideas ??

Don't think it matters, (black on top on my car), the 4 pin connector is for initial setting so it will not matter which air flow meter is used.I have some setting instructions somewhere but that's another topic!

Cleaned the connectors, and then swapped them over fault finder gave 41, 42 and 43 (vane airflow meters not registering any change 41/2 and Throttle position not changing 43). Swapped them back fault finder gave 1 1 everything OK Great!! Still wont Idle still gaggs and jumps on low revs
Going into the garage on Tuesday!!!
