It had to happen on a day like today

Fantastic day, thought i would give the V8S a nice run. Was running beautifully and then suddently cut out at 4000 rpm and i glided to a halt near in the middle of the countryside. First ever breakdown !!.
Did some investigation testing and found no spark from coil. Had car recovered and awaiting further investigation. Could this be another yellow connector issue ?? or just the coil. Bad news is that i was looking forward to using the car all weekend in this fine weather.

It is relatively straight forward to track down ignition failures if you have basic electrical skills and a meter or test lamp. Alternatively, any decent mobile mechanic would find it child's play.

Did you get to the bottom of the problem, the old girl never let me down, be interested to know what it was...? The coil was new about 3-4 years ago... so about 10k miles

Mike, It was a simple issue. A wire out of the ignition module had become brittle and snapped at the tag. Have replaced the wiring, with new leads and plugs and it fired up first time. Just being serviced and MOT'd ready for the summer.

It did not ruin my day as i walked to a local pub after the breakdown , had a drink and a spot of lunch and in a short time a low loader arrived and took it to the local garage who fixed it.

Will try and send you some latest pics of the car when i get the chance to show it is fine fettle

did also put an uprated coil on it as well, so electricals should be spot on now

Good news, good to know the old girl is still in fine shape it will be 3 years in Sep?? Jeez where do the years go.... The old girl is a great car, look forward to seeing the pics.
