has anyone managed to remove the intake manifold without removing the distributor assy thanks kev

Haynes Granada manual says it has to come out ?

Also says bolts should be re-torqued when engine is warm ( I didn't and all seems ok) and unless you have a "special tool" to reach the rear most bolt dizzy has to come out again !!

Thanks mike ,didnt fancy removing the dizzy as the car will probebly never run again but you have confirmed my thoughts PLAN B leave well alone .

No. The intake manifold is the bit underneath that bolts onto the heads.

Ahh ok, should really brush up on engine terminology!

I would have thought the 'manifold' would be the bit where 1 pipe turned into 3 (a backwards manifold) rather than the bit with 3 holes going through into the cylinders (manifold -> many fold -> many pipes folded into one). I suppose the fuel gets mixed in in the manifold somewhere.
