Urgent help required

Nick's rebuild has hit a major sticking point; his clutch slave cylinder is kaput, and the pushrod that goes with it has disappeared. Now he can order a new slave cylinder from TVR CarParts, but the pushrod is still missing, and cannot be bought. Does anyone know of a way of replacing the pushrod? or does anyone have a spare slave cylinder and pushrod that they would be willing to part with? This really is a problem as he's supposed to be dropping the body back on this week, and the slave is a pig to fit with the body on!

Haven't got one to give you but mine is sitting on my desk so here are a few photos.

It shouldn't be too difficult to make one up if it comes to it.

Brilliant thankyou! Nick got one from David Gerald today, supplied via Selby TVR (one of the directors is having a Porsche race car prepped at Nick's college). The slave cylinder Nick has is from a capri; it fits the bracket that bolts to the gearbox, but the pushrod is totally different. It has the mushroom end (does this go in the slave cylinder, or do it press against the clutch lever that sticks out of the gearbox?). From that picture it looks like the mushroom end goes into the slave cylinder, and the threaded end clamps to the clutch lever? If you could clarify for us that would be fantastic!

Yup the mushroom goes into the slave as in the picture below:



The other end engages in the clutch fork which is designed for a cable as it has a keyhole shape slot in it. It doesn't clamp on though, just pushes into the slot so the only thing holding it in is the slave dust cap and the pressure of the fork. You can see the scoring on the end that engages with the keyhole as it isn't the best shape for the job! To make things clear here is a photo of the pushrod engaging in a similarly shaped slot in a door




Someone on here modified the clutch fork by brazing a nut on and grinding it into a cup shape to prevent the scoring. It makes things feel a little less bodged!

Thank you all very much for that, huge help. Nick will be busy with the welder and lathe tomorrow i think! His car will also be on display at TAG11 if anyone wants to admire his handywork.
