What's it worth

Been umming & arring about selling the S, having done woooh 1,500 miles in 2.5 years. If it's worth a fiver I wont bother... so...

E Reg 2.8 56K miles. Metallic grey, pale grey leather interior, dk gray caprets, navy roof.

Body off chassis restoration a couple of years ago (by Ray S), more recent fresh Hammerited. Recent engine rebuild - now pulls stronger & smoother, with hardende valve seats so happy with unleaded fueling. Adjustable Racing Red shocks & springs. Jaguar XJS sports seats. Daewoo door mirrors - colour matched. Steering bush upgraded. Re-con heater matrix installed (what a pig that job was). Cherry bomb exhaust (bonkers). Re-carpetted during Ray's ownership & electric sorted. Few marks here & there.. nothing terrible. Interior very good. No coolant/oil drips on garage floor

So, what you guys reckon?

Ed for some reason S1's do struggle to make the same money as later cars, I don't know why, maybe the 2.8 puts people off. Personally if you don't need the money I'd keep it, unless you're itchig to sell. So what if you don't use it much? When you do use it if you don't enjoy it then maybe time to sell, but if you love it then maybe keep?

Like chris it's back to the original topic, as the chassis has been restored that would take a lot of worry of a potential owners mind. I would say around the £3500 to £4000 mark, surely an above average S1 would fetch that ?

I agree, current market advertise for £4000 I personally would'nt accept less than £3500 from your description.

chaps - apart from being careful re the transaction, anything else I should know about a (possible) sale to a french guy, who'd be taking it home. Any fees for me etc?

Why not get him to pay in Euros Cash? I'm sure you could work out a price thats near enough in Euros, maybe give your bank a call?

When I bought my car to take it to Holland, the seller insisted on paying cash.
We went to a bank and on receipt of my money he put the cash on his bank account.
I then got the keys (and the car;-)

We also signed a simple "contract" mentioning price, mileage etc.
Worked well for both of us.

Car now gone to France. Very sad to see it go, but made a little easier due to the fact the new owner is a great guy & I think will look after it very well.
Hope I'll be a TVR owner again one day (which would be my 5th one!)
