Engine Running

My S3c appears to chunt(not smooth running/mis-fire/similar to a railway carriage when moving out of a station is the only way I can explain it)when moving at constant 30/40mph it accelerates fine.Have checked out the throttle pot,replaced leads,plugs, dist.cap & replaced fuel filter but to no avail.Can anybody recommend a specialist in the northwest area to investigate. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked for an air leak on the induction? I would suggest that you also check the brake servo and vacuum pipe between the servo and the plenum.

I had similar problems on my S3c, I solved it by gapping the plugs correctly (1.0mm) and resetting the static timing to 15BTDC, also if the throttle stop screw is not set right (ie unscrewed too much) that can also cause the symptoms you described, these are just what worked for me, there is a myriad of things on the lambda engines that can cause problems, good luck.
