I have an S1 and want to now how these are fitted to the S2 - does anyone have any photo graphs as it seems as though they are simply screwed to the timber part of the bonnet.

Are there any seals etc ?

You mean the thin plastic inner wings.. ?? they arent fitted to the bonnet at all otherwise they'd be right in the way to get to the engine when you raise the bonnet..

I'll try and take some pics and mail them to you later in the week..

Cheers
Matt.

What I think you want to know is how the later type inner wheel arches were fitted. Such as to the S2 and onwards where there was an additional arch to protect the headlights and bonnet.

These were not fitted to the S1, but can be retro fitted without too much trouble I believe.

Unfortunately I have not done this mod and can't provide the photos or knowledge you require.

The inner wings on S2 onwards are in two parts. The rear section is attached to the body tub as on the S1, but it is curved rather than flat. The front section which, closes down on to the rear, is screwed to the wooden reinforcements in the nose. There should/may be a rubber seal on the leading edge of the rear section to close the gap.

... although these tend to get ripped off by the wheel under heavy braking + cornering + bumps etc.

My S1.5 has not got the front bits on the wood section to cover the lights.

The question is are they worth fitting, and if so, where can i get some from and how much. Sounds a good idea to me. I'm going to Blackpool so i might nip in and collect some of the shelf! (I bet)

I do mean the front section that covers the lights and stops the front part of the chassis/ bonnet hinges front the stone blasting. I am tired of being a soley weekend /sun driver having only covered 1500 miles over the last 10 months. Want to get out a bit more but provide protection to the chasis which has been stripped, treated, painted and waxoiled over the last 6 weeks.

I have got hold of a 2nd hand set and arranging to pick them up at the weekend - anyone help with the photo's

regards

Alan

Hi Birchy.. I now see you meant the front section bit.. I don't have that on mine.. just get the back of the headlights etc filthy
I did take a shot of the engine bay last night that may help this discussion further though:

Cheers
Matt.
