Has anyone got a spare bonnet in good nick?

Considering the options regarding Bob's old car, I've had some guide prices for repairing the bonnet but it occured to me that there might just be a good one out there somewhere without going to the specialist breakers or having a new one, so can anyone help please

I think TET mouldings had the parts needed to make new bonnets, but thats going back a couple of years now. Silverback Mike repaired the nose of my old S3C as good as new and doing this gives you the significant advantage of a bonnet that fits the car it came from..

I have spoken to Trevor at TET and they can supplt s1,2,3 and V8 styles but then you need to paint etc. The economics are against that so am looking, possibly, at the repair option. Jury still out about restore the car or break. Decision soon

I quite often see them in the classified's either here or ebay.

I'm sure there will be one available at the right price, depends how long you can wait of course?

Norman - When I was looking at a replacement for the S3C it looked like TET were the best option for a new bonnet, but there was a considerble amount of work needed to get it finished and then painted ready to fit. I guess the repair/replace option would depend on the amount of damage and the location - I would think its a pretty skilled job to get the curves right..

As for the whole scrap/repair question, I'm biassed, but there are so few S on the road now, if its repairable, someone somewhere will love the job. My Tamora is great, but my next TVR will be another V8S. Totally different car, but for me, brilliant nonetheless..

Steve Edwards does fibreglass repairs... he's in Halifax so transportation might be an issue to you but it would be worth taking it along just to see what he's doing with the solid roofs IMHO. His work is well known and is quality, worth a call ?
