Courier Services - any thoughts ?

Morning guys,

I have found a set of seats I would like to buy but they are in Chester and I am in Hertfordshire.

Does anyone know of any courier services I could use that would collect them from Chester and deliver them to me ?

Scratching my head on this one, so appreciate any advice !

If it was me I'd be searching in the local papers and ebay

I used these people when I needed to have some wheels and tyres couriered.

If you could get the guy from Chester to take the seats to the M6 and you could come to the M40/A34 then i might be able to bring them down on Sunday 13th.

I've used these brokers on a number of occassions www.interparcel.com but they do expect items to be wrapped. For really odd shapes like a tank cradle I wrapped in corregated cardboard and them split rubble sacks and used the strong polythene as an outer layer

For those interested:

Parcelforce: £35 next day
Interparcel: £75
Direct Courier Solutions: £25 !
Derek: Very kindly offered for nothing but unfortunately I am not around on the 13th (thanks anyway Derek !).

So looks like DCS is the way to go and they said they use Fedex.

There are a couple of delivery auction websites you could list them on. Try Anyvan or Shiply. The advantage is they probably won't go out of sight of the driver between collection and delivery (ie. they're more likely to arrive!).

Unless they are going to be re-upholstered I'd drive up and collect rather than risk someone else's packing and or damage by cheapo courier ?

Finally sorted this, a good friend lives in Chester and will collect them for me, and I will meet him when he's next down South.
