It would appear that whilst at my local garage, they couldn't figure out how to open the bonnet and have stretched the boot release cable frown I now cannot get into the boot, despite having the bible and knowing in theory how it should be done. Would anyone be kind enough to please email me some pointers? Thanks in advance.

Cheers Norman, I'll give that a go today.

Orange_dodo - bloody hard by the looks of it! The orange handle is drooping down and the cable is slack. It may have come detached somewhere rather than being stretched but I won't know until I can get into the boot.

eek

My handle snapped when I opened the boot last year, your handle is obviously a lot stronger than mine!

Having recently purchased a V8S, I also live in dread of being locked out of the boot by a flat battery. Could one of you gents be good enough to let me know what the procedure is to gain accesss in this situation - thanks in anticipation.

Hi Norman

Many thanks for the prompt reply - doesn't sound as bad as I'd anticipated! Now to get to grips with the rest of the car ...

Cheers - Chris
